Yes, Stripe and PayPal offer nonprofit discounts on their fees. In the US, the discounted nonprofit rate is typically 2.2% + $.30 (Stripe) or 1.99% + $.49 (PayPal) per transaction. Check out other regional discounted pricing here.
No. There are no setup or cancellation fees for you to use Donorbox’s affordable fundraising solution – it’s free for you to create an account and start fundraising right away, and you can upgrade or cancel your plan anytime!
For credit card donations, the platform fee starts at just 2,95% for the Standard plan, and can be further reduced to 1,75% for most features when you upgrade to our Pro or Premium plans. Stripe and Paypal have their own fees, but you will only be charged one payment processing fee per transaction.
No. If you’re using our free Standard plan without any add-ons, you will only be charged a small platform fee of 2,95% and a payment processing fee when a donation happens. This means that if your organization doesn’t receive any donations in a particular month, there’ll be no fee incurred for your account. </br> More advanced fundraising features are available to Pro and Premium plan users at a monthly fee.
Donorbox doesn’t charge any fee associated with currency conversion, and neither does Stripe or Paypal. When a donation is made in a different currency, you will see both the original and converted amounts on your Donorbox dashboard. Stripe or Paypal would automatically convert the amount to your local currency and transfer it into your account. By default, the conversion rate will be 2% higher than the most optimal rate, due to the constant fluctuation of the exchange rates.
Some add-ons and integrations can be added to your plan at an additional cost. These are billed as flat-fee monthly subscriptions and renew automatically. You can purchase or cancel these add-ons and integrations at any time from your Donorbox account. For Premium plans, please contact us for custom pricing.
